Replacing an auto battery gets rid of the sulfate from home plates so it can run much more successfully. It does not restore the toughness of the battery to 100%, however it does come close. The lead sulfate that has set and crystallized, which can't be removed by charging, can be eliminated by an additional process, called desulfation. This is one
